Full Size Car Simulator
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone has fitted a gaming steering wheel in a car before?
I'm taking my 'weekend' car off the road for the winter and so to still get a bit of use out of her I'm hoping to fit my Logitech G27 in there so that with the addition of a projector and screen I'll have a full size simulator.
Has anyone done this before? And if so could they share their experiences of how they fitted it?

No but baggsy a go if you manage it
It might be easiest to for for a left hand drive idea and install your wheel and pedals in the passenger side.
Or gut the wheel and attach the sensers to the cars controls which sounds difficult to do and I imagine you'd have to lose force feedback.

I'd considered the LHD approach, but wasn't sure if it would then just be weird as there's no instrument binnacle, and the interior is generally focused at the drivers side. It may be the only option though.

I don't really want to rip the wheel apart as its brand new, more just attach it to the column area, even if it means its at a different angle and maybe closer to the driver. The pedals are easily dismantled though and the sensors will go under the existing ones I hope.

As nice as that would be, I don'd have a spare £90k knocking about! Although that set up is extremely expensive considering what it is. To build that yourself is about £30k. Still way way too much though! Not to mention lack of space for it if I could afford it.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
