CDR24 and Dension 500

Anyone out there able to help me? If I fit a Dension 500 wosname, can I control my Iphone (ie Ipod) through the standard Porsche H/U or does it just allow an AUX input that can only be controlled by the ipod/phone.

yes, it will directly control the iPhone, but it's clunky at best.
It's has to be done through CD controls, and I never quite got used to it.

I looked into this back when I had my 987.1 and gave up in the end as I didn't think it was worth it (my car had a warranty, and this would have put a stop to it). That said I think some people used USB sticks instead, which might be just as good an option.

I have the Dension in my Cayenne, and although I'd agree the control is a bit limited I really don't find it that bad. Steering wheel controls for the stereo help a bit I guess but Alphabet search means it doesn't take too long to find an artist or album I want.

In fact, I'd say the newer aftermarket stereos I have in my other cars (which are also connected to ipods) aren't really any quicker at finding music. They might look prettier while they're doing it, but it's still the same old "scroll through album names" type stuff.
