Holding Deposit For Lease

Looking for a bit of advice please....
In the process of setting up a new car lease, I have agreed the quote and now being asked to provide a £500 holding deposit which will be refunded on delivery of the car?
I have done leases before and never been asked to do this. Anybody aware of this practice?
