LSA modifications
Discussion
Just been looking about the interwebs for general LSA modifications and came across this nice little article https://www.oztrack.com.au/2013-09-27-06-14-12/vf-...
Would be interested in peoples opinions on the stated gains, and also any other information on upgrading the LSA.
I also found this adapter for upgrading to the LS9's TVS2300 s/c http://www.hotrod.com/news/lingenelter-lsa-to-ls9-...

I'd drive it stock for a while. It's not like you're car is short on power!
Yup, prob look at starting the mods in about a year. Need to get used to driving a petrol again anyway, plus the massive difference in power from my current oil burning bimmer is going to be fun
Here is what is cost me in dollars to get my car to 632rwhp/764 BHP on SRR. I got most of this done when the parts were newly released and have since dropped in price. Overall, I could probably do the same again a little cheaper
Ported Supercharger and snout: $1200
Lower pulley & Balancer: $600
Heat Exchanger: $800
Intake: $350
Valve Spring Kit: $289
Custom Cam: $370
Injectors: : $900
Custom Tuning: $400
Headers+ Exhaust $2000
So out the door I was at about $7K in spending since I did labor myself. Had a spun bearing once due to improper valve seal install but that is a separate issue. This translates to about 4-5K pounds in my economy not so not sure how much more you'd have to pay for parts in England (a bit higher).

Its probably worth having a chat with Sarge 4x4.
He got Walkindhaw to do a bunch of work on his GTS and he seems more than happy with the end result.
list of what was done is in here somewhere

Yeah, I have the price list from WP for what he had done. I may just go for a decent OTR CAI and a remap next summer, and start buying parts to go on over the winter to spread the cost out a bit. I do need to get it down to SRR when I get it to get a baseline reading, then go from there I guess.
Finding information on the LSA is proving a little harder than expected though.

If you have questions about the LSA, I can help but its up to you. I have owned mine for almost 5 years and have been through much trial and error.
Awesome mate, will be badgering you a fair bit I reckon
Oh yeah, nice list of mods by the way
How long did it take you to build?minime68 said:
Sure I hear you. The fuel system is/was stock at the time. Now with my new setup I have a KB boost a pump. If I were in the area I'd be glad to help you knock out most of those mods.
Cheers fella. Am in Reading, but over in Cobham quite a bit at the MiL's and she has a better drive as well
Mine's a forged LSA with TVS2300, cam and ported heads. The blower is really the bottleneck so you are looking at 750hp - 800hp on 98 SUL no matter what you do. May look cheap on paper but the reality is different. Not just because of parts but the labour required to make it all work.

That's a lot of money
Does the fuel system cope without modification?
The Aussies are getting 670 at the wheels with the standard fuel pump (but uprated injectors (and many other mods))
