Renewal of Pet Insurance
Discussion
I've just worked out that it is costing me more to insure Pepi (cat, has been to the Vets quite a bit in the past before he became a house cat upon the arrival of Beauty - he hasn't been sick or injured in the last 2 years) than it does to insure the car each year!
£67/month
He's with M&S and has been from the start as that was the most comprehensive policy I found when I did the research; but should I shop around now, or stick?
I've heard horror stories of pet policies not paying out after a move..

Wow Ali is that really just for him!!
Lucy has had ongoing claims all her life and is now 10 her monthly amount is £36/month excess £75
Changing may mean exclusions on pre existing conditions but some may accept those conditions if been more than 12/24 months since a claim. Others may not cover until after a yr with them and existing problem not flared. You'd probably have to ring and find out.
Try John Lewis, Pet plan and query M&S's charges as that is ridiculous.

We pay about £35 per month for Vertie, he has a heart problen and has drugs daily, an ECG every year. He has also had a liver and kidney problem so spent some time at the vets. He is 11 years old.
Mei Mei is about £25 per month, it jumped up after she had to have artificial tendons put in a back leg after being hit by a car
We are with Tesco

Given this is PH, I think the most sensible answer is to change your car to something with a higher insurance group
£67/month is a lot so definitely worth shopping around, but how likely is it that you'll need to claim again for treatments you've already claimed for?
If it helps, you can compare different policies (including M&S) on my site

Pet insurance is an indication of just how good value the NHS actually is.
most of those charges on a vet bill are very simialr charges for human healthcare ( especially stuff like blood tests ) ...
It is indeed! I'd far prefer to be treated by my old local vet too (he was gorgeous! most of those charges on a vet bill are very simialr charges for human healthcare ( especially stuff like blood tests ) ...
