Starter motor/battery?

Went to start car today (ls2 vxr8) and it just clicked, started on the tenth attempt, battery voltage seems normal but not sure how to check starter motor?
Will add has started fine since then and sat for 8 hours between starts too

When it eventually started, did it crank over nice and strong?

Yes same as always, but always has been a slow starter compared to the ute(ls1), but I remember my ls2 vxr was a bit of a lazy starter too

I think my first port of call would be to unbolt all of the heavy duty starter connections, one at a time, and clean the terminals, then pop a bit of Vaseline on them before bolting them back on - including any earth straps and the battery terminals themselves.
