991 Tyre Wear

When I bought my 1st 911 (my 991 Cab) I was told I might get 6-8 thousand miles out of the rear tyres. But here I am at 20,000 miles 29 months later on the same set. Good, eh?

You obviously need it taken off you and given to someone who would drive it as intended.

What tyre and 2wd or 4wd ?

Just fitted my winters at 13k miles. Summers are just over half worn. Rears are at 4-5mm fronts at 5-6mm.
The 991 wears its front and rears much more evenly than the 997. My old 997 would get 8-10 k from the rears and the fronts were half worn when I got rid of it at 40k miles.
Looks like the 991 will do 20-25k miles to a set. Much better if you want to change tyre make/type as you're not chucking away practically new ones.
Both 2wd.

They're Goodyear NCT F1s and rear wheel drive. I may get to spring in them. And, yes I DO drive like a granny! Well, most of the time; I occasionally drive at 70! Great car though.

Don't be worried about how you drive the car. Until one of the members of the peanut gallery offers to supply me with tires I'll drive my Turbo (and Boxster) in such a way to extend tire life. I can rack up 20K miles or more per year and I'm not anxious to buy tires several times a year. Bad enough buying a rear set every year for one sometimes both cars.
