I think in terms of the specific description of pretty, yes.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

I'm with you on that cmoose (although I am biased!). What strikes me about that 550 is how many of the styling features made it across to the 986. IMHO it's at least as close as a Series 1 Landrover to a Defender, arguably more so. Get one in a more "classic" colour and it's even closer. I'd be interested to see if anyone has ever tried to "backdate" one.
Wrong.
904 is pretty but surely is more of an Italian look that jars with the traditional Porsche aesthetic. Speedster is OK, but loss of the roof spoils the lines. 993 Turbo is handsome, not pretty. Boxster is underated and ageing well, with a wonderful rear 3/4 esepcially in red, but still has its work cut out with the lights.
No, the answer is of course a 356 Coupe, ideally A or Pre-A. What was once 'The Porsche' also happens to be the prettiest.

Have to disagree. I think the 356 is a much prettier car than the coupe, the same as the 986 is much prettier than the 996. Granted, if you put the roof up on either the Speedster or 986 they can look a bit awkward, but they both knock spots off their Coupe versions IMHO for being "pretty". (Admittedly, a 986 looks weedy compared to a 996T or GT car, but those aren't trying to be "pretty") 904 is pretty but surely is more of an Italian look that jars with the traditional Porsche aesthetic. Seriously, does it get better than this...

Maybe not a contender for the prettiest Porsche, but an interesting 550 backdate based on a boxster:
