So who's driven the longest trip this year

Well I've only managed to drive to Durham and back this year a round trip of some 500 miles. Easily beaten where have you been?

Belgium Yorkshire, Lake District, Blackpool, Wales, Cotswolds, London , Calais and back to Belgium around 1500 miles ( 2500km)
I know this distance will get beaten but it was my first longish tour, and the car was flawless.

OK so it was last year not this one but..

Dunkirk, through Belgium, down to Frankfurt (1st night stop over) then down to Berchtesgaden in the German Alps, 2 night stop over driving around a bit (some excellent passes incl The German Alpine Road) then up, over and around more Alps to Sharnitz in Austria spending another 2 nights driving some unbelievable roads both in Austria and Germany, then we drove north to the Nurburgring spent one night there and a couple of Laps of the Ring before heading to Brussels for one night before the Ferry home.

Just under 2700 miles in all and one heck of a smile that lasted for weeks.

The Chim ran absolutely great was on the button totally and not even a sniff any problems save a slight tree incident in the Car Park of an Austrian Restaurant (I Swear it jumped out at me) requiring some minor repairs once home.

From Finland to Tuscany and back, returning via Le Mans in a Chimaera 500 in June/July. ~7000km (~4400 miles) in total.

Down to Italy and back - around 2500 miles.

From Oslo to Kiel with ferry then to Bregenz near Switzerland, around Hemberg we drove some nice hillclimb routes

Then we went to Davos, drove the Fluela pass and later the Stelvio pass, ended up in Milano.

Then on to Sestri Levante and Florence and up to Modena for the obligatory Lambo/Ferrari visit. Back to Zurich, Swarzwald roads in Germany (great drives), then Nuremberg, Berlin and then home. Took 2 weeks

About 3900kms of pure driving, no faults on the Chim. Two weeks later, home in Norway, the fuel relays died.

My reason because I couldn't beat your first distance posted.

Not going to win any awards but the longest trip this year in one day 320 miles.

From home (Tanworth in-arden) to Poole Quay avoiding the Motorway taking the back roads for Quay for my car event and then returning home.

Car ran perfectly with no issues reported. Roof off lovely sunshine heading down and the complete opposite for the journey home. Heavy,Heavy rain all the way home.

Nice to read of people going overseas something hopefully I will get round to doing myself.

Le Mans then onto Spain and back in company with another 450 about 2500 miles in total with no problems

Ah ha I knew TVRs' would get around a bit. Sorry the heading of my thread was not as clear as it should have been. I drove 2,842 miles getting the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao then following the coast of Northern Spain and Portugal ending up in the Algarve. Then back to Bilbao via Seville and Madrid and the ferry home. A six week camping trip in June to July but not in the TVR I'm afraid to say. I'll say it quietly it was in my 1925 3litre Bentley. May be in the Chimaera next year.

Well, not me. But I did lake district return, around 700 odd miles. However, it was one of the most interesting trips as i drove up Hard Knott Pass - anyone else driven that road?

Surrey to Cadwell Park via QBees, track day then back to Surrey, total about 570 miles.

Only casualty, one cam bearing fell out, 'twas nothing more then a scratch! Still drove back.

Wellingborough (home) to Portsmouth onto Le Mans (Classic) & return journey. Slight issue with immobiliser at a fuel stop (which turned out to be a failing battery in the remote fob), otherwise car faultless. Not sure of total mileage but must have been around 1,000 in total with a bit of driving around in France, 2 laps aroung the Le mans circuit and a visit to some of the D-Day landing beaches on the return trip.

Had a single route in beginning of October from Clitheroe, via ferry Harwich - Haag, to Örebro, Sweden in my new Chim. Ca. 1100 miles, most of the time with a smile in my face.

Essex to The Ardennes then lake Constance back up to the Black Forest Then Ypres don't know how many miles but what a way to travel they really are a great touring car we are planning a little trip to lake Como next year should be fun

Some great roads.. out of the high season.

The Stelvio pass is disappointing but there are others.
