Pistonheads now seems to be the reserve of the rich. It seems to me and many other members that the rich can do no wrong and the poorer can do no right. If you have money you can buy an expensive car and make as many garish mods as you want and on the whole the pistonheads massive will be all over it kissing the owners cheeks and praising everything the wealthy owner is doing to basically ruin his or her expensive car. On the flip side a young person with a massive interest in cars buys a cheap motor because its all they can afford then saves some money and proceeds to mod their car within their own restricted budget and to their own taste, posts it up on readers cars and every member with a bit of cash in their pocket and a better car then the young financially inferior poster slates the fk out of it. Pistonheads is supposed to be a site for car enthusiast, not a site for rich people to openly flaunt their wealth, nor should it be a site to mock the less wealthy. Surely a site dedicated to cars and the love of should have no prejudices.

Some PH'ers are more equal than others I suspect, but don't let it bother you.

The great thing is that you don't have to read every thread, just ignore and move on!

Or to look at it another way:
PH encourages rich people to ruin their toys and spread their cash about among the rest of the population.
PH also encourages people not to waste cash they can't afford to on ruining their only practical form of transport.

My interpretation is quite the opposite in that I perceive most PHers to be low to middle income.

Blimey, is it Inferiority Complex Week..?

I think you'll find the key word in your ramble is good TASTE, which has nothing to do with rich and poor. Some youngsters really don't have it. 'Twas ever thus.

FWIW. I wouldn't slate someone for 'modding' something older (Golf, Corsa) but I wonder why would you spend fortunes on lowering, painting, hybrid turbos etc & ending up with a car that owes you more than a standard, much younger, car.

I think on the whole people on PH pretend to be much richer than are, and enjoy pretending to internet strangers that they charge about in tweeds and brogues all day, smoke about private members clubs and have a 'man' who settles their chits for them on a quarterly basis.

In reality, I picture most of them in branded motorsports 'technical' jackets and Matalan jeans. Just look at any clothing/style thread for proof.

I really wouldn't come here for taste/style advice... hehe

Clearly you haven't seen the show us your shoes thread. You get the odd trainer in there letting it down with its awful colours but stlye a plenty mainly of the brogue variety.

Yes, one must look down on disastrous peasants...

The OP is quite an insensitive type and ought to be ashamed of himself.

Just look at the turmoil and anguish he's unleashed on the rich Red Baron with one thoughtless post...
