and left it in a car park for last 3 years - link (sorry about source)
It would only be £13 quid surely for a lost ticket
I parked in Stanstead long stay earlier this year next to a Renault Megane, it looked like it had been there a while, when I looked at the ved it expired in January 2013. The discs were rusty and all the tyres were soft. I was happy to park next to it as I was unlikely to gain another door dent from that side.

Theres a Honda Accord on the 8th floor of an NCP Carpark in Lansdown Road in Croydon thats been there about 2 years as well, asked the attendant that was on duty at the time what the deal with it was and said bloke got arrested by police when he parked it there and no one has ever come back to move it on lol
BMW 750 at my local indie, it had broke down, they towed it in, the owner said take a look.
After finding nothing obvious they tried to get in touch with the owner to ask him how far he wanted to go, nothing, its been there 10 years how, the thing is it is an R reg, so it was about 6 or 7 years old when dumped there, so still id imagine a decent car.
It dosn't look that bad now, it has been robbed for parts though.

This does seem to be a recurring phenomenon. There's a large blue van parked at my local Sainsbury's (other supermarkets are available) in a sorry state. It's really battered and shabby looking and has a flat tyre. The weird thing is it's been there for over a month. When I saw it first I assumed someone would come and change the tyre and get rid, however no effort appears to have been made.
There has been an E46 330i parked on a back lane in Ambleside for a good long while now. Went past the other day, it's still there. Moss on the roof, flat tyres and condensation in the windows. Hasn't moved in years, by the look of it! It's a shame as it looks like a really good family car that is obviously unloved.
Now, even more strange is a yard near where I work. It's out of the way, beneath a bridge. Fenced along the front with access via a gate, and walled in around the back and sides. Nothing there except a grotty little portakabin; previously white, now yellow and in shabby repair. Obviously disused, never a light on in there day or night. At the back of the yard, visible from the road and the bridge above, was a 535d, a Jaguar X300 XJ6 and a Saab 900. I noticed it at first because when I started working there I commented to someone that it was odd to see two nice, expensive cars at the back of the yard on this dumpy little scrap of land, as the 535d was fairly new at the time.
The Jaguar looked like it hadn't turned a wheel in years, but the BMW didn't look too bad from a distance. However, none of the cars moved and the BMW slowly started to look as ropey as the Jaguar. I commented to a colleague about the cars, who remarked the Jaguar had been there from the mid 90's, and appeared to have been bought new and just left there. The only thing that ever changed was the Saab 900 went from being parked nose in, to reversed into one of the bays over the past couple of years. Earlier this year, all cars still having been sat around rotting, were gone once when I drove past the yard. Gate still locked, no 'to let' sign, no clue as to who owns it. But I did wonder, and still do, about who could afford to dump those cars there. The BMW was probably worth £40,000 new and the Jaguar, likely the same again when it was new in the 90's.
I'm probably a saddo, but I often wonder about the stories behind these 'abandoned' vehicles. We had a Corsa in our work car park for nearly a year belonging to a staff member who had gone on the sick and never came back to get his car (or had a family member or a colleague take it home for him).

Not quite the same but I leave my CLS for weeks on end in airport car parks.
Currently in a German Airport car park the last 5 weeks.
One more week and I'll be back.
Very often used to forget where, which level and even which car park but nowadays I take a photo of the parking bay number.
This thread reminded me of all those cars left around New York from all the people that died on 9/11.

Cambridge St car park in Glasgow had a dusty old Merc in it for a while up until a couple of months ago - W124 coupe I think. Dundasvale car park over the road has an equally abandoned Saab 9-3 by one of the doors, complete with flat tyres and messages scrawled into the dust. Often wonder what the story behind them is.
