My 13 year has asked for an XBox for Christmas no idea why?? I've looked at the bundles and games and they seem to be mostly shoot'em ups in some form or another. Would anyone have any ideas on which would be the best option as I want to be able to get a couple of games that would be suitable for both the 8 year old and the 13 year old. Also does the XBox One have any games out there that would be suitable for both?

Personally I'd go for a 360 + Kinect & "upgrade" in a couple of years if they continued to show an interest.

Driving games available in both formats but many good games on xbox 360 for younger players.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-One-Console-Halo-Coll...Forza (Motorsport or Horizon) would be suitable (and a great game for a PH youngling!!) for any age and is available in the XBOX one bundles (you will have to keep Halo for yourself, I'm afraid.)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-U7X-00009-Zoo-Ty... - I would personally really like this and played it for hours on the PC when I was little

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Marvel-Super-Heroes-X... Also loads of cool Lego games which would be fine (available on xbox one or 360) smile

I think 'The Evil Within' and 'Grand Theft Auto V' would be a good place to start for children.

My 9 and 12yo daughters inherited my 360 when I got the Xbox one. They enjoy the kinect games but mainly love mindcraft. my 12 yo also enjoys trying to drift cars on forza

For that age I would try the 360

Was gonna say just grab a 360 and a copy of minecraft. All the kids are obsessed with it these days and playing it on the big screen (instead of a PC monitor or ipad) is great.

Theres obviously loads of other games too but I think it's the best possible time to buy a 360. Prices are dirt cheap, the console is mature with tones of games and accessories and it's still relevant and not going to disappear over night.

The Xbox One costs a fortune and all of the games on it cost a fortune too, with a lot being ports from the 360 with fancy graphics upgrades.

For a pair of youngsters, it would be a 360 for me.
