Surely you've got a load of literature from when you signed up? This should have their T&C's. Alternatively ring them up and ask. But I'd do it sooner rather than later.

I believe I remember the cooling off being 7 days.

Did you buy it online or in a shop?

Ive been with Orange for years. Although I keep updating my contract I have never ever had a piece of paper off them apart from a bill.

You have a 7/14 day cooling off period although they don't publicise it. If they don't honour it, phone about and get the tech team to investigate into it claiming you get poor signal at home, when at home run daily speedtests and keep them logged. They'll investigate, and if they found nothing wrong like they did with me, you can legally terminate your contract without charge.

You may have to give phone back/pay for it though.

Hi Bananaman,

For what it's worth me and the wife are on Three but because the signal is so poor at home they have provided a plug in signal booster which works a treat - full signal at home all the time and free of charge whilst in contract.

They also have an app called Three in Touch which uses any available wifi network to make/receive calls which I use sometimes when out and about.

I was told by their 'continental' call centre opening the box or using the phone invalidates the cooling off pool.

There is usually cooling off period -14 days IIRC.

Email them now and get the process started. basically if you have no signal then there is little point in you having the contract (unfair to you as until you purchased it you didn't know you were in a blacksopt)

Ive canceled a phone i bought i shop and 3 i think from vodaphone (2upgrade" handsets 3 on the trot as they were all bobbins) all used marginally cleaned up repackaged and returned no issue.

There should be no problem to cancel it

Check the online coverage checker, and if it shows that it's okay, (can get an ok 3g signal call them up and ask them to investigate.

Yes, probably outside of the 14 day cooling off period however that's the same with all contracts - after all, it's just a finance agreement by another name. I'm sure if you read the same contract it'd mention this?

If you are within the 14 days you can cancel with no problem. if you are going to i would get on with it now or you will end up with a phone thats no use half the time!

You have plenty of rights under the consumer credit act and sale of goods and distance selling too 9if you bought online/via phone)
