Does anyone else get the rest reminder after a few hours of driving? Can it be disabled somehow?

There doesn't seem to be any option for it in the trip computer or in engineering mode.

Paul.

I'm sure it can be changed or turned off on ours. It's currently set for two hours. I'll have a look tomorrow night.

I'm guessing it might need someone with a tech2 or similar wizardry tool. Just wondering if anyone has disabled it, or perhaps increased the timer perhaps?

The Ro and R8 have it. don't believe it's a delete option as it's meant to be a safety reminder. Just push the left hand roller button. But unless you stop cat it repeats more often. Think every 30 mins

It seems to repeat every 20 mins. Even after an hour or so parked up it still persists. Can cancel it with the trip button, but just thinking of next years Sweden trip where possibly driving 10 hours a day it will probably annoy the hell out of me.

I get it on the 'ro after 2 hours. I just hit the menu button and it doesn't appear for another 2 hours. Don't know if the timings are the same on the 'R8. Might be worth hitting menu rather than scrolling as that might be a sort of snooze effect.

Can't recall ever seeing this on my vxr8, and have done many 4hr-odd drives without stopping.

Setup menu?

Can't see it on the setup menu anywhere. Have even had a look in engineering mode too.

Driving your cars too long! nonowink
Turn on the ignition, drive around until the rest reminder goes off, usually about 2 to 3 hours. When it goes off, press the horn 3 times. wink

Ok, that is not entirely accurate. Turn on the ignition, press the left scroll wheel (ie enter to customise options), then scroll through to trip computer. Press enter again (pressing the left scroll button). Now scroll through the trip computer settings using the left scroll button until you get to rest reminder, press enter (pressing the left scroll button again) and it will come up with on, off and back. Press enter on the desired setting.

Yes it made me jump when it went off one day on a nice cruise to nowhere. Don't think I could find it in the book, just sat and stared at the dash scrolling through all the menus until something worked.

I am sure that you can turn it off through the settings menu because I have done.

I will have a look tonight and see if i can remember how I did it.
