Does this 73, 911 look right to you?

Has it had turbo rear arches fitted and how would this effect the value?

That's a very big question and we'd need more photos. You should check the chassis number near the 'smugglers box' - it might not even be a 1973 car. I'm betting its either a '74 to '77 car with wider arches, or a later car that's been given an early ID for tax reasons. If it really is a lwb long hood/pre-impact bumper (i.e. '69-'73), its been royally messed with. The interior, all the panels (4 wings, bonnet, engine cover, bumpers) , wheels and probably a bunch of other things too have been 'updated.

However if it's originally a rhd 911S or even a 911E it may well be worth a restoration.

It's probably not a 73. If it is then it's had expensive work to make it look like a mid 80's Turbo look Targa (IMO)

Value is always subjective .... and depends on whether you want it or not .... Personally not my thing and would not give it the space ... Even for free.

Its a car i,d be looking to keep for myself but its a lot of money to spend on what could be a wrong un.

My thoughts exactly, ask the seller to take a photo of the front boot with the carpet removed and post it up OP, it's easy enough to tell from there.

A DVLA check on that plate lists it as registered 1/5/1973, 2341cc

Factory wide body targa didn't appear until the late 80s. This is unlikely to have been built in 1973. You need to look at the numbers on the car, if not you're taking a big gamble with £14k.

I doubt thats originated as a 73 shell. Its a reshell or something a little more sinister.
