997T - Track day pads or OEM ?
Discussion
Taking the 997T to Silverstone shortly, although I have plenty of track experience (National A licence etc.) I've not tracked the turbo yet.
I'm debating swapping the OEM pads for something more up to the job, just for the day, so would just like to canvas experience.
Should I stick with OEM, are they likely to last for relatively short stints, 15-20 mins, without fade ?
Or should I swap in something a little more track focused, was thinking about the Ferodo 2500's as I run them in my current Mini Challenge car and am very impressed with them and the lack of fade, or is there something else that stands out ?

^ The first sensible thing he's said all day. DS2500 are fast road pads (at a push). DS3000's would be better suited to a heavy car such as the OP's, but the downside is they'll kill your discs, trash your wheels and paintwork.
Personally I'd go Pagid RS29 or 19. Pretty much the default choice

I track my CS using oem pads without any issues. I know its a lighter and less powerfull car, but I too hold a National A comp licence so consider myself a reasonable driver. The only mod I've done brake-wise is to fit GT3 cooling ducts. I recently did 10 laps of Silverstone GP circuit and the only thing that suffered apart from the driver, was the tyres.

That's sounds promising..... also running on the GP which I think should be a little gentler on the brakes
Might not risk it though, I'm not going to be silly with them, but the last thing I want is brakes stopping play..
I adopted the same approach. Try them and if they proved to be unsuitable, then replace with a more track-focussed pad for the next outing. I've done Silverstone GP once and Castle Combe three times on them now without any problem.Might not risk it though, I'm not going to be silly with them, but the last thing I want is brakes stopping play..
