Kent High Performance have a Grigio Testarossa up at £31k with 38k miles up.

This has GOT to be done.....?

Downsides, folks? Are the warranties any good as I don't fancy paying for a rebuild. I'll be doing 6k miles a year.....

Should I jump or buy an M3 and be sensible?

I know.

BUT I can't really afford for anything to go wrong. I will be a dry weather toy for weekends only. Low mileage and holed up underground suring the week.

Does anyone know if the warranty I will get is any use if something catashtrophic happens. I expect, of course, minor niggles and can budget for that.

Verdi's have a similar car at £33,500, or one done less miles (24,000 at £31k)I believe Verdi's warranties have a very good reputation and belts done less than 12mths ago.

verdi have a better warranty.
KHPC = be carfeul - often sold on behalf of owner therefore requrie ind inspection.

Also I was not impressed with the company AT ALL.

opinions vary but I would not buy from them EVER.

go into deal with your eyes open and get an ind' inspection.

There just isn't the critical mass of Ferrari owners on PH yet, so if you haven't already found it, I'd try looking on FerrariChat. Although most of the owners are US based, some of these guys are in the UK.

There's an awful lot of bollocks talked about Ferrari maintenance in general and V12s in particular. Rather than create even more by passing on what I've heard about TRs, it's best you hear what you need from the owners themselves.

Good luck!

Have a drive before you buy a Testarossa......no doubt it has massive presence, personally I am not keen on the drive, really is a GT car, fantastic on smooth fast roads, but not so good on the twisties.........great value for money now, remember no power steering in those days so the wife wont be able to park it when you have had a drink!!

from my experiance the only ferrari to have is a 12 cylinder had 2 testarossa's then bought a 355 and hated it totally different car to drive from a testarossa it is easier to drive as the test is bigger no power steering and the brakes are crap but the sheer power makes up for these little problams if you can afford a bit more money look for a 512 tr or a f512m as they are a testarossa with all the problems sorted except no power steering on either

I was going to point you Steve Fs way There is also TeaArse and Barabus on Ferrarichat.com that run Testarossas.

I would personally love one and the more I see them the more I desire... but that 12 cylinder running cost issue scares me with the 8 or so thousand miles a year I would be doing.

Still probably get one after I´ve racked up the miles on the 348. The road presence is phenomenal

As a long time ferrari owner who has owned 4, i have always found www.ferrari-talk.com very useful. They have buyers guides for the full range of popular models including TRs. Dont have much to do with f-chat my self.

worthwhile going for the TR 512 - a little more money - but Ferrari had sorted the handling, brakes et all finally.

Personally - I find the TR 512M just a little too fussy...
