Happy new year Everyone!
Discussion
Its been a fantastic year, am off out to get sloshed in a few hours
but first I wanted to post to say thanks one and all for the support and enjoyment Ive got from both the S and everyone here in the S forum this year.
I can still remember my first posts, discovering the S series, realising I could actually afford a TVR, being told I would not regret it, taking the plunge (buying the first one I saw
) and despite mega bills have not looked back and enjoyed every single moment of it!
My S is up for sale (pending ad approval) but if I still have it, which I may well do(!) might see you guys at the next S meet
May 2005 bring you health, happiness, dreams come true and safe driving everyone!

Rob2004 saw a funny year. Family problems. Heartache etc.
Also, a V6 S3 entered my life. Like UKBOB, it was the first I saw, and fell in love. I have had so much fun and I hope it continues through out 2005.
Thanks for the help you lot have given and I too would like to wish one and all A Very Happy and prosperous new year.

It's mainly been a funny year, got annoyed with my dream job, quit, got a better job. Then bust the car. Bad end to the year.
All the best to everyone, and here's hoping for a good new year.

I assume you are making room for the Cerb then Bob . Different animal but still a Tiv

Rob you've only had the thing 5 minutes, why sell now just as you are getting all the wrinkles out of her? Not to mention how great it looks after the TLC recently lavished on it.
As nice as a Cerbie is, for me it could never replace the top down fun of the "S" In the not too distant future I may have the option of a Aston Martin DB7 GT, I've always wanted an Aston Martin, any Aston Martin, since I was a small lad, however having driven the car I now find myself confused to say the least, here is my dream car, in a totally different league to the Tiv, but I find my head saying go for the A.M but my heart is saying how much I love the V8S. Totally confused!! Isn't choice a pain in the ar$e at times!

I love my S more than life itself though, and after the money Ive spent on the car it seems wasted. I will get a cerbie, its the car of my dreams(!) but I cant decide when though. Being a business owner, I have enough money but its money thats 'owed' to me, and rather than waiting 2 or 6 months (impossible to tell, and I hate waiting) for it to come in, thought about a loan which Id pay off by the summer at the latest and have a cerb for le mans.

The cerbera is a different beast for sure. I'll miss the gokart ride the S offers, more than anything else.
Everyone will probably think im crazy, but what can I say... How much does this Aston cost? What about another TVR? Surely half of us here, after TVR ownership, could never drive another marque?
A pher said yesterday, getting into other peoples cars after driving a TVR is like taking a ride in a milkfloat. Aston and porche are great, but they just arn't TVR.
If all S owners could upgrade to a car costing less than 40k, what would your ideal car be? If I had 100k Id still want a cerb, (and a V8S
) and pocket the change
Astonished to see you car up for sale already mate!
You've spent a small fortune getting it 'tip-top' and to the spec you wanted. Seems a shame to let it go now. I did sell mine within a year of getting it, for reasons of my own, so I understand how things can change.
Would reckon you'll have no problem selling te car, judging by the interest mine caused and it wasn't even advertised. I suggest you let Rob Ingleby know it's up for sale. He may well have a potential buyer on his books waiting.
Good luck with the sale and hope you find a suitable replacement soon.

Im having a dilemma chaps, debating not selling just yet. Im owed enough money to keep the S and buy a cerb, but getting clients to pay (projects seem to linger at the 90% complete mark for eons) means I could be waiting 6 weeks or 6 months before I find the money to get a cerb, so I debated a short term loan. re: the loan, I dont mind paying interest, but cant decide what to do.
Back to the S, what would you sell my S for, if you owned it (its up there in classifieds). I wanted 10k+ but figured all the work Ive had done doesnt really count for much, in resale value... not sure.
Pies said:The guy I bought it from paid 13k 2 years ago, and did 1500 miles in the car. Ive since done a few thousand miles myself, prices have come down(?) and I got the impression all the work I had done on the car would net me nothing come resale time. I would like to put the price up, but already have my eye on a cerbera and want a quick sale - maybe I should leave the price as is, and see what happens.
Even at this time of year its got to be worth £10k surely, probably bit more come spring ![]()
But the market seems slow around xmas this year, even Joolz mechanically sorted S hasn't sold yet
AIMHO
Either way, if a buyer comes along, you'll all vouch for it, right
I must admit, I did feel a little sick to my stomach when leaving the house on new years eve, kept saying to my girlfriend I cant believe my car is for sale. Before I bought it, people commented saying those that moved 'onwards and upwards' missed their S's a lot, wished they still had them. I know I will, doubly so as its my first car and Ive had some very special and happy times in it.
Whoever buys it will surely be very happy with it, and I do hope its a PHer who will join the forum, so I can keep track of it (and find his address, and nick it back with the spare keys I cut
) How long do V8S's usually take to sell, about 6 weeks tops? I think I should give agger and ingleby a call.

Rob cant believe you are selling either, you will miss it for sure as good as the Cerb is! Each to their own, enjoy the Cerb and look forward to seeing it at a meet sometime, never got to see your S though
As for the DB7 Paul, I too have always wanted an Aston and was thinking about it when I bought my previous car the Porsche, but after drving it I changed my mind! it looks beautiful but is really a re-bodied XJS and drives worse? having driven a couple of the newer ones including the new DB7 GT (at an Aston open day) I must say the GT is a better car than the early ones for sure but they are about 80K surely??? Which is a lot for what equates to 70's technology!! I did have the new Aston Martin AMV8 on order but when they announced it was only going to be a 2 seater I sold the slot to another PHer 'Sarbs' and will probably go and buy a Maserati 3200GT instead! Keeping the S of course!
Wishing you all a great 2005 from snowy Kazakhstan, I am off for another game of Poker with the boys (I won $300 yeterday) and its off to the mountains for some snowboarding tomorrow.....its a hard life?
Later

Ive actually been a PHer (lurking/reading) the cerbera forum on and off (mostly off) for 4 years, and it was back then that I fell in love with the beast, promised myself one day Id buy one.
I stumbled upon the S forum when searching for cheap jap boxes, and saw some 5k TVR's on Autotrader. I'll miss the S for sure, and will come to the 2005 Summer S meet whatever happens
Well done on your poker winnings
And welcome back
