Just phoned Leicester Car Supermarket to enquire about an Audi A6 on their forecourt. Looks a good price for a low mileage example.
The conversation went something like this;

Me- Hi, I'm phoning about your Audi for sale?
LCS - Uh, yeah, which one?
Me- The A6. Could you tell me how long it's been on your forecourt, please?
LCS- It's not on the forecourt, we're selling it for someone.
Me- Oh right. But it'll have a warranty though, right?
LCS- No. We are a trade car dealer. We sell cars to the trade.
Me- But it's advertised on AutoTrader. Don't you have to sell it with 3 months warranty or something?
LCS- No, we don't sell to the public but you can buy it and buy a warranty from us.
Me- I'm confused. It's advertised on Autotrader but you don't sell to the public??
LCS- That's right. But you buy a warranty from us.

The conversation went like that until I realised that I didn't want to spend £6400 at his company and ended it.
Anyone else with any experience of this company?

If it's the same one, the other cars they sell seem to come with long warranties?

A dealer does not need to provide <insert fixed period of time> warranty to anyone, ever.

A vehicle sold must be fit for purpose.

(entirely different issue to "it's a trade sale innit" - which is wrong and is bullst also)

After looking, it doesn't appear to be.
