OK so i'm about to paint a sand-blasted triumph spitfire shell, the whole floor has been replaced and etch-primed.

What is the single best under-seal that i can apply to the under-side of the floor with either a rattle can or a NORMAL paint gun (I.E not having to spend £200 on a specialist gun for one job)

Simples!

Thanks

I bought my injection wax from Dinitrol, I bought about 4X 1ltr cans and they included a gun and a long nozzle FOC which screws onto the cans and you just connect to the airline, Ive not used it yet but it looks pretty good quality especially as they threw it in, Might be worth checking out their website?

Dinitrol and Bilt Hamber both produce excellent stuff. Pricier than the mainstream motor store stuff but well worth it in my experience.

I used Bilt Hamber's Dynax range for the cavities on my spitfire. I seem to remember it came top in a Practical Classics test. The probe was really long, didn't clog and got into hard to reach places without any problems or mess.

The nossle had a 360 degree spray pattern so just a case of pushing it into the hole, holding down the spray button and slowly withdrawing.

For the chassis itself I used a thick black brush on job from local motorfactors .. but make sure everything is clean and dry first.

POR15 or some other epoxy type paint brushed on first imo

The Bilt hamber stuff is good over the top and I've used Shutz as well which gives a nice finish

Thanks guys - im not looking for cavity way though, im after permanent external underseal - I'll be using u-pol stonechip stuff on the sills as its overpaintable. its the floor/inner wheelarches that im looking to protect.

POR15 is VERY good, but is it chip-proof?

Whats the rubberised goo they use in the factory?
