Far too many cars I saw this morning with unclear windows.

Two however literally had barely more than enough to see their eyes and nose... Lunacy don't people realise that this is so dangerous all windows should be complete clear before setting off. If you are late tough get a taxi or get up earlier next time.

One person pulled out of a side turning and couldn't see me at all idiots. (Imagine a child runs out or someone on a push bike).

Very bad but pretty standard behaviour as far as I can tell.

First few frosts catch people out, they will all have bought some new de-icer today.

I spent 20 minutes scraping the ~2mm of solid ice/frost from my car. Dont know what it is about our car park, but all the cars freeze solid. Thought I was going to pull the handle off just prying the door open.

I predict a bad winter.

Lol, won't someone think of the children!! biggrin

I have to admit to setting off this morning without all my windows clear. My front screen was pretty clear but my side windows were still frosted up. However within about a minute of me setting off, they were fine and no animals\children\whales were harmed as a result.

My excuse was I was late for work and getting up earlier would have meant that I got to spend 10 minutes less in my nice warm bed, not really want you want on a cold Monday morning wink

Do you suppose it's just coincidence, or was the only other bit of snow the driver bothered to clear was around the Audi badge...?

Maybe they just wanted to know what it felt like to own a white Audi, at least temporarily.

Joking aside, that is horrific. Isn't it also an offence now to drive with that amount of snow on your car, in case it flies off etc? People need to take a few minutes instead of being so irresponsible IMO.

I took an extra 5mins this morning to clear my windows. I miss Fords heated front screens though.

If that person got caught, it's a £60 fine and 3 points for not clearing the snow off your car. That would be all of it.

I was told when I live in Austria, failure to do so could land you with a large fine and an accident caused by snow falling off your car could even land you in prison.

We had our first frost a couple of weeks ago and the bloody thing didn't want to start! This morning it was a lot colder and frosty, but I am pleased to report she started fine. Oh and I always clean snow/frost etc completely before driving away.

Just after I started driving, I made the mistake of clearing all the snow off from my windows, but left it all on the roof.

I had to make an emergency stop, and all the snow from the roof ended up on the windscreen. Wipers couldn't clear the snow, so I had to stop and clear it by hand! Thankfully, no-one was behind me, and I now make sure that I remove every bit of snow on my car before driving away! It's amazing how many people don't, I'm sure there have been similar incidents where the consequences haven't been quite so pleasant.

Cool story bro etc. smile

Yes it's that time of year. I heard the neighbour going at it with the scraper this morning before walking out pouring warm water over the windows and setting off. He was still there attacking the rear window as I left. People are just a bit odd.

Not being able to see what's behind or to the side like that surely would be a charge of driving without due care and attention? Receiving a notice of intended prosecution and a court appearance. Or is our already overstretched legal system hampered by all the EU civil rights objections too busy to prevent RTAs?

I have the issue of having drop down windows, which then don't open when frozen to allow me to defrost them...

Much scraping this morning just to get in the car and pop the heater and rear window/wing mirror heater on...oh well at least I could see better than some idiots going the other way, wipers going at full speed over patchy ice.

My dad did the same thing, only he had to make an emergency stop due to a pedestrian stepping out in front of him. The snow came flying off the roof and she got completely covered in it - I guess it taught her a lesson not to cross the road without looking biggrin

Oh and do the bloody lights too

Esp as we all have coloured bulbs not coloured lenses these days and bulbs/LEDs that give off very little heat to clear the lenses

eek Oh my God, no!

What kind of idiot thinks it's ok to drive off in a car with virtually zero visibility?

I hope the driver was prosecuted on this photo evidence alone.

It's alright as long as you have your fog lights on and stay in the middle lane.
