I have wondered if this little sub-section of a motoring forum could be bigger than some of the dedicated cycling forums, it certainly seems like the best place to get a quick answer sometimes. It also has a bit less snobbery too, which is probably unique of the PH sub-forums.

Couldn't agree more! Sometimes on Bikeradar if you can't hold your own with Contador and Wiggins you get shot down in flames...

The pedal powered forum is great, but to be fair - I would say ph as a whole is a very useful hub.

I've had great advice from many other sub forums. I tend to use pp the most mind...

Indeed , this forum has saved me a few pounds as well as good advice.

Cycling News "Clinic" forum is possibly the worst forum I've ever had the misfortune of reading

Same here. In fact, Pedal Powered was the reason I went from long-time lurker to signing up to PH. I've since joined in on threads elsewhere in the sub forums, but this is my first port of call almost every time I fire the computer up. For the most part, this is one of the most inclusive, and helpful sections on here. I'd happily lose the rest of it, so long as this little corner remained active.

I love PP. It's saved me a fortune and I've always had good advice. Pretty civilised too. I'm not on any other bike forums though, no idea which ones are any good and TBH, I'm not sure I need to be.

Having had so much great advice on this and other forums over the years I'm always delighted to pass on what little I've learnt, with the proviso that I'm a fat opera singer with a passion for building up and riding the things, not a bike mechanic.
