Vodaphone seem to have an offer for a free sim card on PAYG. Have just ordered one, although it now seems to say they cost £6.99 whn I click on the link, hopefully its just because you can only order 1 per household.

Oh well, if it works, enjoy! www.vodafone.co.uk/cgi-bin/COUK/portal/ep/home.do

Obviously it's a smart cookie

..until you put in your cc details to verify you've only had one for that household..

I must admit I was a little worried about putting my cc details in. I recieved the conformation email but it does make you feel uneasy when a site asks for cc details for something that is supposedly free.

Why do they also need your security number on the back tho

I got one too

Okey doke - try another CC and see if it lets you get another SIM.

Yea, I thought that.

Dunno if anyone else has had this, but recently when I have been buying things with my card (in shops, not online) they keep asking my postcod, is this for the same security reason or is someone after me?!

not if it's registered to your house - it won't make a difference what card you use!

But as I'm about to go on o2 online contract, who would like to start the bidding at £5?

Vodaphone website currently has a PAYG sim for £9.99 which include 12 texts per day for 90 days. Not for me, so didn`t look for the catch. I expect there is a minimum top up each month. Possibly worth looking at.
