Sorry I think this is ill conceived and far to broad in its terms, there is no time limit on the waiver or code of conduct on the other side. The greater issue is that the complaints of a tiny minority can end up causing a poorer life experience for a far greater number of people, this isn't just an issue for motor racing circuits look at how difficult it is to get practically anything built in this country.

Sentiment might be well meant - if naive - but it is so badly written that to expect anybody to take this seriously is a triumph of hope over reality.

There was a brief thread in GG, so here's my response from there:

The idea of prohibiting any sort of noise complaint is daft, because we couldn't expect anyone to put up with properly noisy days (think Formula 1 V10 volume) on a regular basis, but I do think there are deep flaws in the way any vocal resident can make a complaint about noise which you could (and should) reasonably expect. I've signed this petition in the hope that it makes it to debate, because while its wording is far too strong, at least it may provoke some change to the system.

I'm thinking in particular of the spectacularly moronic councillor who single-handedly got the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone axed. He'd only just moved there and seemed unable to comprehend the amount of money it brought his constituency. I've been there, and it's not even that noisy an event. I can't, for example, imagine many local French complaints against Le Mans gaining much traction..

And yes, it is rather badly worded. Amazes me that, if you're writing something so important to you, you wouldn't give it to someone to check over!

Not only is this petition badly written it's also been stolen. Here is the original started by a live music fan.

Flawed but I agree with the sentiment and believe it needs to be looked into.

This - it may also have broad implications for nuisance laws in general, and will require its own legislation, rather than simply signing a waiver - which would be a form of civil contract, by the sounds.

I agree with the sentiment, but the petition needs to be drafted by someone with relevant legal experience.
