SMC Over Land Defender Bought
Discussion
So we made the decision a few weeks ago to sell the RCZ and replace it with a Defender of all things.
Originally we were going to buy one from Nene Overland but for various reasons last week we pulled out of the purchase. To cut a long story short we came across SMC (Spectrum Motor Centre) up in Chester, did some research into them and have decided to buy a 90 Hard Top from them.
It's currently being modified, in fact I've had to stop adding things because if we don't it will never get finished.
Spec is:
90 County Hard Top
Santorini Black
Chassis Waxoyl'd
Black Checker Plate Sills & Wing Tops
Stainless Steering Guard
Gloss Black KBX Grille
White LED large type Lights Front & Rear
Genuine Rear Load Mat
Genuine Heavy Duty Rubber Mats
18" Gloss Black Boost Alloys and Cooper AT3 Tyres
Midnight Privacy Glass Behind B Pillar
Sat Nav & Speaker Upgrade

Gotcha. Never heard of that bunch. When someone says "overland Land Rover" to me I think of something like this:
Overlander
Sorry but I think what you mean is overloaded with cool tat that gains no benefits off road, a proper overlander you try & keep the weight down, not up! Next you'll be telling us about your extensive spares package for the extended lifetime trip away, a weekend in the lake district.
I do like them blinged up with 4x4 tat but please don't refer to it an an overlander

He hasn't. He's referred to it as an Overland (although it's actually "Over Land"), which is the model name the tuning house (Spectrum Motor Centre) use as a label for their specific set of customisations. These additions don't seem to amount to more than just a set of wheels, some brighter lights and a bit of paint so I don't think it's going to trouble the weighbridge too much. It's not as if it's got an unused winch, roll cage and waffle boards nailed to it while proudly displaying a "One Life Live It" sticker.

I like it Op, sure, it's no Bowler but not too Kahn or that vulgar Chelsea Truck outfit either.
Looking forward to hearing your impressions.
Looked at Kahn/Chelsea Truck and I know what you mean, same goes in a way for the Icon stuff that Nene build. I do love Bowler's and Twisted's creations and the other one that caught my eye was Urban Truck. I came across SMC via Alive Tuning and I'm hoping we won't be disappointed when we finally see it.Looking forward to hearing your impressions.

I was amused earlier this year to see on one the sticker "one wife, livid"Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
