My exhaust has broken, rusted through after first silencer. Anyway tomorrow going to pull off broken bits but was wondering as to legality of driving to pick up new centre section from europarts.

I can't help think that Plod will cut you some slack if you are going to pick the bits up.

Running around on a semi/ permanent basis - less so.

If it's walking distance I can't imagine any copper would do any more than let you on your way.

He would have to be having a massive awful st of a day to do you for it

Its not a huge distance but I have the worst luck known to man. Once spent an hour at the side of the road waiting for a breathalyzer wasnt even driving was on a bike on way back from night bar tending. Hadn't touched a drop as i am t total but stunk of alcohol from being round it for 8 hours

Probably ge about 10-20 kilos for a centre section. I wouldn't drive it as you risk carbon monoxide buildup in your car.

Well doesnt matter now anyway spent an hour freeing the slip joint between the back box and centre section moved on to front slip joint between centre box and cat to find it had been welded together in a funny place then covered in exhaust sealant so its centre section and cat that now need replacing. However since the manifold has a loverly crack in it and heatsheild fixings are completely screwed might as well take it to garage get whole lot done. complete exhaust minus back box

I doubt plod would have pulled you over for that. There are people driving out there on Straight pipes and don't get pulled for them.

It depends on the time of day and the happiness of said plod. I've been pulled in the past for noisy exhausts, once ended in a noise test at a station, the other just got a talking to.
