Cold beans from the tin...weird or no?

Sometimes, if I'm not around, my missus will have a tin of cold beans for lunch, eaten straight out of the tin with a fork. She says it's because she's in a hurry, but I think that she secretly kind of enjoys it.

Now I think that this is pretty unusual, myself. I'd normally at least heat them and put them in a dish. However she maintains that "I bet loads of people do it". So, PH, as arbiters of all that's good and true, is she right? Or a bit of a weirdo?

I always have a couple of spoonfuls of beans from the tin when I'm cooking them, couldn't eat a whole tin cold though.

I always eat cold rice pudding from the tin. I never intend to, but as I'm about to spoon it into a saucepan the spoon goes straight to my mouth instead, and then theres no stopping.

Always used to have cold baked beans with dinners when I was a kid - prefer them that way :-)

As to preferring it, I suspect it is more the case that these 'foods' are not that much better when warmed.

Also when I was a kid, my mum would always empty a tin of beans into a bowl if we were having a buffet style dinner, I love cold beans.

I remember one Xmas about 20 years ago l was snowed in and a power cut from about 6am till about 8pm spent all day reading a decent book and about 5pm in candle light straight from the tin beans and sausage followed by rice pudding .lovely

Hot ambrosia rice pudding is just wrong.

I love cold baked beans. I used to have them as a side dish with salads when I was younger - I've grown out of that though
