What would you have bought not taking into consideration the price today?

If it were 2011 prices today, I would probably have a 997.1 GT3 at the top end or a 964 C2 at the lower end.

Reason for the post is that house prices and classic cars seem to be cooling off.

Trouble is I tend not to buy with resale in mind, as in I buy the car I would like to drive within my budget.

RS 4.0 is biggest shocker to me.

964 Turbo ..3.3 I was offered a solid but in need of a bit TLC for 20K. Big maintenance bill worries put me off as I didnt know just how much TLC it required. Should have just bit the bullet, well out of my league now.

Saying that ............... I've never enjoyed a Porsche more than my 993 which I bought instead.

Not taking current prices into consideration, would get a PTS 3.8RS I think if the clock was reset back to 2011..(but only after I failed to get a PTS 4.0 )..

1965 2 litre, 964 3.6 turbo, 2.7RS lightweight or touring and a 993 GT2. Oh for that crystal ball. My guestimate roughly an outlay of £600K. In todays market £1,600,000. A handsome tax free profit

Agree with you on the rest, although I think for the 996, the main one people haven't really appreciated yet is the 996 Turbo (it's a manual metzger, after all).

968CS's are already accelerating fast and you'd be hard pushed to find a decent 3.2 coupe under £30k at the moment.

GT3... forget it!

This. Except I still passed on one in Sep 12 for same price and 5k miles and boiight a 991 S instead which depreciated like stale bread. Regrets.

Or Scuderia. In 2011 should have bought one.
