Help needed with Cayman discount
Discussion
Hello fellows,
I need your assistance with getting a decent offer on Cayman.
As you see from my nicname I'm on Cyrpus, and market here is very small, they probably sold 3-4 Caymans 981 since launch.
I went to my only dealer today to finalise my spec and get a final offer, which was not very generous...
I told that in UK I'd get easily around 10% off ... what was many times mentioned here and he agreed to match any offer from any UK dealer... Thus
Do any of you have good relationships with any UK dealer to make a quotation with a good discount (hopefully around 10%)on my spec Cayman so I could ask my local dealer to match?
I can't really call all of them myself from here asking for offer, I'm afraid.
Really hope to get some help form you, guys!!!
PM me if don't feel comfortable to communicate here.

I'm not sure what's in it for a uk dealer to spend time making a quote with a 10% discount to then send onto a dealer in Cyprus. I imagine whoever was seeking the quote would need to be quite open about why it was sought.
I also think 10% is quite a hefty drop. Especially if the sales of Porsches aren't huge at the dealer in Cyprus.
Always hear it is better to negotiate free options rather than a drop in the price.

If the dealer in Cyprus has agreed to match any offer from a UK dealer then you already got the bargain of the century.
A rough breakdown follows below.
Base car in Cyprus: 45K + 3K tax
Base car in UK: 40K
That's a 13% "discount" right there.
When you add the options to the equation the discount will be even greater (options cost more in Cyprus than in the UK).
Asking for a further discount it's just rude I think;)
The best advice was already given to you. Configure your car to your exact spec on the UK configurator (remove 3rd year warranty to lower price even further if needed) and ask your Cyprus dealer to match.
If you had a dealer in the UK who was your friend you could get a further discount and yes 10% is possible no matter what anyone tells you but only if you show up at the dealership waving a wad of cash or you pick a car from the court or it is the end of the year/month, etc. but do not obviously expect to receive a 10% discounted quotation via email.
Edit: Used Boxster prices by mistake now corrected for Cayman

The deal was to match % of discount, not the price itself.
And if consider all benefits together - discount as it is + free warranty extension I got a touch over 10% on built to spec car, so yes, there are such deals at the year end.
I guess you can get now in UK even better deal on stock cars, not GTS of course.
