2003 Phase 2 Saxo VTS totally standard

So there I was griddling my asparagus (fnar) when I saw a watched item ending on ebay, threw in a cheeky bid, and won it!

A 2003 2 owner 100% OE VTS, 127k miles, loads of history, located on the moon AKA Tunbridge wells!

I lashed down on a train and bought it under ideal conditions, it was covered in leaves, it was dark and also raining! Bwaaaaap

350 mile journey home via St Albans to pick up some seats for someone and I was home, 34.7l of fuel saw 311 miles before I decided to fill it up! that's 40.74 mpg! a bit of mixed then motorway speeds!

It has a ton of history to go through, the original Essex lady owner had a 120 mile a day round trip, I need to pick through the MOT history and work out what's what, I know it' sbeen stood a while as it has a bit of etching on it and REALLY needs claying

I sort of love Saxos, I don't really fit in them, I also kind of have a track one, and some sort of estate M5 thing.

Behold, the greatest car in the world, I plan on changing the grill and plates, it needs clayed and a few bits and bobs, I'm going to run it over the winter then maybe garage it and restore it up as best as I can.

I've got a heavily modified track one, I just love the fact this is like the day it was purchased.

I used to have a MY2000 one of these. Great little cars but a bit 'tinny' if you know what I mean. Enjoy.

Looks clean, especially for the mileage. You seem to have some sort of affinity with the things, I remember your other one from Saxperience!

It's been very well looked after, the gear change is still tight and as I said it's standard, headunit, airbox, no holes in the shelf, even has the alarm stickers on the windows!

My ex wife had two VTR's, loved driving them, nicely balanced, fun little cars and nice to see an original one

This got me browsing Ebay and there really aren't many about. Wether owners are keeping them or numbers are dwindling, it looks like you've got a rare one there OP

The VTS was ALWAYS the one I looked out for. Incredibly quick, enormous fun, nearly as scary in accidents as a mini but ignoring all the nannies - these cars captured the very essence of hot hatches.

An all original one in very good condition's got to be a rarity!

A clean, standard VTS is as rare as a clean sheet in a nursing home. And about as much use in an accident! But they were made to drive, not to crash. Great cars. I previously had a 106 Rallye and enjoyed it when the right road appeared.

Yeah I've just driven it to work hard, it's so much fun, I'm sure it's quicker than my track one, and there'a about 1800 of them left, 1300 or so on the roads I think.

I'm just amazed at how good they are at standard height, I think it could do with the engine and gearbox mounts done, I think it'll get some love soon.
