Anyone tried this to help with the damp?

I am thinking that I could leave it in situ wrapped from door to door behind the seats and put it on a timer to come on periodically overnight.

At 40W per meter, it wouldn't be that expensive to leave on for a few hours at a time. Tempted myself, I have a power socket next to the car if needed.

Could prevent having to de-ice the car too!

Lots of boaters use tube heaters to keep the boat above freezing temperatures inside over the winter. They're usually 40-60 watts.

But a heater alone won't keep the damp down, you need a dehumidifier. Warm air can carry more moisture.

I don't suppose it gets scorchy hot but still wouldn't want it in direct contact with carpets or upholstery.


Think the tube heater is a better idea.

I just switch the garage air conditioner to "dry".

All done mate. Looks good and works a treat - double fog and reversing lights now. Also finished the leather re-colour.

Just now saving my pennies for a new carpet set and will then go to more mechanicals.

Not sitting idle though. Hopefully be able to share another small item I've been working on recently by this coming weekend.

Thats designed for wrapping around pipes as frost protection and gives off very little heat for your purpose.
I used to install it on pipework in a few places i used to work.
