Time for some winter-work...

Brakes master cylinder has been leaking a little. Wondering if there are any upgrades or alternatives to the TR6 MC? if so are they a kit or is it best to just replace the MC and carry on as before? Will any other MCs fit the TR servo? Any experience in this change? Blasted reservoir is such a fiddle to fill if only filling the the rear section!

Petrol filler cap likes to slosh petrol out on fast left handers - any alternatives in terms of filler cap which wouldn't require too much alteration or drilling to bodywork? Happy to go for a Newton Aero cap, but I also like some of the Mocal Classic caps. Any experience with either/both and which are best for not throwing fuel?

A side from that - I'm just over seven months into ownership and I love every moment I have in the car. I've decided to keep the four speed box for as long as I own it. It's a bit of character and I don't intend to teararse everywhere (motorways especially). Looking forward to getting a screamer pipe for the tunnels... desperate to take this toy on track next year!

I would stick with your master cylinder. Filling the rear brakes section on mine is no problem, you just fill as normal and it runs over the top of the baffle into the rear section. I've seen one Vixen where the master cylinder had been changed and they had fitted a remote servo. See Pic. There was an article in the TVRCC magazine a few years ago where someone fitted a lockable filler insert into the neck of the fuel filler pipe. I think this is the one he used https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/locking-inser...

Thnaks for the replies - I'm aware of the newton cap insert method - I cant do that as I have an odd shaped filler hole - it has a small extrusion into the filler hole for the breather hole. I'll consequently have to replace the entire cap - I was wondering if there any any that are better than others?

RE Brake MC - Happy to keep/replace it but the bloody reservoir is doing my nut in! Are there any different shaped replacements?

One more thing...

Don't suppose anyone has considered Headlight covers a-la-MG Sebrings?

there's been some talk here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=11&... from 2010 - wondering if anyone has done it or would know were to start?

I presume that you are talking Vixen S3 here...the later master cylinder can be fitted and do away with the 5 way valve with a little bit of pipework changes, the Newton filler car conversion requires silver soldering so any pipe in the way can be tweaked at that time.
I had a set of perspex covers that I gifted away to one of the lads that works for me 'too see if they fitted' to his Grantura Mk1 that were made for my Vixen S3, I will see if he 'really' wants them. PM me as a reminder.

Yes, often, and for a long time.

Yes. If you're serious, I can give you some guidance.

Depends what you mean by "serious". I'm not a fabricator or a multi-billionaire, but if you let me know what you have in mind maybe I can answer you more clearly.

for the fuel filler maybe you can fit one of these in the filler neck hose.

This looks worth investigating DOn't know why I hadn't thought of a non-return valve! Thanks!

Is this the correct size for the TVR tank then?
