I presume this is in response to some of the very public fkwittery on display in some Northern towns.

Not that I condone some of the more well publicised actions at recent cruises but this is pretty shocking.

Does this effect Sunday Service?

(Not sure northerners should get all the blame either!)

No sorry, didn't mean to imply it was only Northern based, I was thinking rather of some specific stuff recently from threads on here, crashes in shopping centre car parks while hundreds looked on, that sort of thing.

Most of the behaviour shown in the video is total f%^&wittery and doesn't really equate with what car cruises are supposed to be about.

Years ago; probably 10 years now, Guildford had a great American Cruise which was ultimately ruined by idiots in their Saxo's and Nova's, I don't think it was banned however it was stopped.

I would presume it was in response to the 'persistent problem in the Black Country' as the report states rather than anything that happened in the North!!

I gather from watching this that this relates to the ing around in shopping centre car parks and the fkers racing around industrial estates generally cause a fking nuisance.

Wouldnt've thought anything PH organised would fall under this?

Well it's all "North" from me!

Even people who organise an event are liable to prosecution, that's going to lead to some confusion I'd have thought.

So they can "ban" car cruises overnight but can't seem to legislate to remove the travelling community on. Hmm

At what point does a collection of vehicles become "a cruise" I wonder?

Will be interesting to see how some Asian weddings are Policed as quite often the B&G and members of the party "cruise" the streets in a celebratory procession

Massive overreaction I think.

To start with, it only applies between 15:00 and 07:00 - so anybody organising a daytime event is OK.

I suspect there's an awful lot of devil in the detail.

How can a judge effectively make a new 'law' ? PS just seen a cruise on the M25. About 42 HGV's elephant racing.

All this'll achieve is to drive the events underground and out of the public eye i.e. instead of being organised on Facebook, they'll be done via word of mouth etc. - in the process making them exceptionally hard to Police.

So OAPs and unemployed are OK. Phew. smile

A smarter solution would be to require a formal application for an event and for unapproved ones why not just block the exits at a car park event and then crush all the cars on site? Do that a few times and even the thickest monkeys will stop.

Why should everything be 'approved' in order to be OK? What's wrong with an impromptu social gathering...nothing. It's just a shame that a few idiots ruin things for everyone else, that's all. Go target them, rather than ban everything.

Oh I don't know. Maybe just a system of common law in operation since 1189 & Richard I accession to the throne perhaps?

Completely agree but to nip this issue in the bud requires some aggressive action such as blocking all the cars in and then destroying them.
