Can you still just swap a car?

Due to things as they are in my life I'm in need of an Estate. I've a fully specced lexus is220D with a nearly brand new engine fitted. Its the perfect car for my motorway life. However due to needing space I need something bigger.

Are they're any websites for this sort of thing? Thats car swap not wife swap

I think some people see swapping as a good way to try to get rid of a car that is technically a write off because of expensive repairs that need doing now, or soon. In theory I like the idea of a car 'swap site', as you could change your car for free for fun. In practice I don't think it would work.

Maybe I am wrong but you might find a dealer who will give you X amount trade in and they have an estate car you want for the same price so you can swap?

Put it up for sale in here and state you are open to a swap/px for an estate car of similar value. You might get lucky.

That is the obvious way. However then we all loose out to a stealer taking their cut. I think i'll put it for sale on here and say i'd like an estate. Failing that i'll get a roof rack and run it till it dies
