"The injunction prohibits two or more vehicles gathering in the combined local authority area "known generally as the Black Country" between 15:00 and 07:00 GMT."

This all seems very vague but doesn't actually explain how police might act on it or approach the problem of people breaking the law racing or being a noise nuisance, for instance so before I go all tinfoil hat perhaps someone in the know could give their 2p on the subject? I was worried that it would become a situation where you have to prove your innocence if a police officer determines that your proximity to another "suspicious" vehicle might lead him to determine that you are "cruising." On a practical level though, are you just going after the real nuisances?

I have previously been stopped late at night by a bored copper that admitted he thought it was suspicious that I was "doing just 50mph" (the posted limit) in "a car like that," despite the fact I saw him pull off the forecourt and was aware he was following me. It was a bit inconvenient but he wasn't rude or surly, and volunteered directions. Other than that I don't have much experience of traffic cops and don't attend cruises. Anyway, any clarification would be appreciated.

This is being aired on many forums right now. It's hardly news in that part of the world though.

What next? Get arrested and put before a court for going out for meal with a group of friends?

It the usual suspects who have created problems for the rest.

Those who want to derive enjoyment from legitimate activities should be allowed to do so free of interference.
It should be a reserve power and subject to sensible policing. Whether it will remains to be seen.

A gathering of 2 cars seems a bit small to be considered a cruise. Hopefully they'll be sensible about this.

Somebody hasn't thought it through have they? All that will be needed is to find alternative venues and switch these 'events' to weekend mornings when the injunction has no effect and the police will have to rely on their other existing powers.

I suspect it's just a matter of time before every LA across the nation will seek to do the same as in this case.
