Just brought my first TVR

I've just brought my first TVR, a British Racing Green Chimaera, and I have never been happier with a purchase!

There are lots of little jobs to do, but I am looking forward to bringing the car back to its full glory rather than dreading the bills like with other cars I have owned!

It was a great deal, as it seems to be in amazing condition mechanically and only needs little bits tidying.

Alex, the drive back was great...just as shame the motorway wasn't a little quieter!

I keep telling myself the bills are just a series of wise investments. This approach has not yet been accepted by my OH...

Glad you're enjoying it! It was sad to see her go but I will own another TVR at some point!

It is rapid isn't it... ;-) Was thinking the same thing after I'd driven a 12 hour round trip to collect her, was getting really agitated and phoned my father to put his foot down if he could hear me over the engine noise. Lost him for a few minutes on the M25 until he roared past me at a speed, probably (certainly) not in double figures, in the outside lane.

Doc Toad, that's exactly how I'm looking at the bills, just some little investments.....I'm just not telling the OH how much these little investments are! lol

Alex, it is definitely rapid, that is for sure and the noise is pure addiction to listen to.

Nothing like the drive home in a new TVR! Brought my latest one back 3 1/2 hours from Reading 2 weeks ago. You spend the whole journey in awe and disbelief about your new purchase.

I'm in much the same position. Just bought a Chim 450 30 years after having my first TVR (a 3000 ML) That makes me feel B ancient.

Welcome to the mad house.I brought my first feb 13 and brought my second sept 14. I am parting with the first feb next year. I have not regretted a single moment. It's great to wake up on a sunny morning like a kid thinking great I can take the Tvr out and I love working on it as much as driving it.

I'm still using the chim each day at the moment. Looking round for something boring for when weather bad.

Is that one of the earliest Chimaera's ? - the one with different door opening mechanism ?.

Looks nice - the headlamp conversion suits it !!
