Hi,

Looking at early V8 Vantages and wondered what are the main pitfalls? Its the Coupe I'm interested in.

I see the 4.7 is more desirable and bit more up to date, but too much money for me at the moment. Also main dealer versus independant prices don't seem to differ too much, so why go independant?

Loads of info in the FAQ at the top of the forum smile

Buy Grants book for £20 off amazon, its the semi official guide to modern Astons :

dealer vs independent - up to you really, indy usually has to give just a 3 month warranty, dealer should have done the check and have 12 months warranty . Usually dealer is more expensive for the same car. The warranty is worth £1700 ish on its own

If you can afford to go for a 07-onwards model year car you will get the facelifted seats and a few other improvements.
I would say to buy on condition and history rather than low mileage.
Also best to get one that has had the clutch changed already, unlike what I did.
