Bloody great - Westminster announces they're going to dual carriageway the A1 (reported on BBC as The rest of the A1) What they really mean is that they're only doing it as far as Berwick. So from there to Torness we're stuck!

Time Ms Sturgeon got her act together.

Not one dual carriageway from Scotland's capital to the south! (And just how often is the 7 closed meaning there's only one way south - the A1! I exclude the A68 o/a the number of cameras!)

Have they committed to doing it within a reasonably short timeframe, or have they just made a vague promise, decided to spunk the money on a new shiny bridge, and proposed to piss a lot of people off by putting SPECS the entire length of the road instead?

Don't think Berwick is the upper limit, believe its likely to be short of their.
Alan Beith has been campaigning for this for 40 years, there are so many deaths due mainly to non locals tavelling the dual - single - dual - single stretches north of Morpeth.

The a1 South of Edinburgh is not too bad when I have been on it. It's largely duelled. It's after Berwick it seems to become a nightmare imo.
