Just read this article on the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30295759 about a 1 legged cyclist.

There are obviously a few around cyclist with only but leg, but this chap takes it to a new level.

Will make me think twice about how difficult some hills can be.

Weight saving aside, I thought it was pretty inspirational. We were discussing a Haute Route recce and what it would involve, only one of the 7 day events, not all three.

It will certainly make me focus on the pull up when pedalling.

Whilst on our European trip this year we followed (in our campervan) a race/sportive from Valloire to alpe d'huez area and overtook (I presume) this guy on our way up a climb to 8000+ ft.

Out of interest. I guess his heart can pump the same amount of blood, but to only one leg, so would this make a significant difference?
