A foot of snow, or sheet ice might cause a cancellation. It has to be dangerous or impossible for them to cancel.
It's a risk you take, I'm afraid. You have three choices:
1. Book, and be positive - think how much petrol money you will save if you don't run! (like me at Brands on Tuesday)
2. Wait until you can see a reliable weather forecast, then book if there is still space available somewhere in the country.
3. Leave it until the summer.
The only track day I have completely lost due to weather in the last two years was Brands this Tuesday. I was on the wrong tyres and it never stopped raining. I would have been able to potter around at half speed on road tyres, but 300 bhp through the rear wheels on a soaking wet and newly scrubbed racetrack was a joke - sideways on Druids Hill at 25 mph! Most days that have some rain have some dry weather too, and race tarmac dries very quickly.
