Hi Guys,
just took a 2001 bora TDI auto in part ex with a view to using as a Winter hack, the problem is when putting it in Drive it jumps out as the revs and speed increases quite violently and tries to stall, any ideas of cause and price, thanks
Andy

No idea (my knowledge of autos is bare) but if it has a dipstick for the 'box, check the fluid level and colour - if it's low or burnt looking, change it

Worth at least inspecting it - can't possibly be worth rebuilding/replacing a 'box in a 2001 Bora

How much did you pay for it? Probably not worth your time trying to auction it either - IME although old TDI VWs fetch stupid money at auctions anything with mechanical problems like that which are bad enough to be declared by the auctioneer don't

Stick it on eBay spares/repair/not to be driven away/etc if you can be arsed with the time wasters - should maximise your return

Must go to different auctions than me then - a serious fault with the gearbox like that would definitely be on the listings and announced as the car struggles to drive in...
