I'm not sure where to say hello ?

I'm Perry (nitrousmgb) and I drive a 1975 MGB GT V8. Its modified and I use it only for Drag Racing now.

Cheers
Perry

Hi Folks
The daily drives are an Isuzu Rodeo truck and a 14 year old VW Golf. One of them gets me to work and back anf the other one takes me and the wife out on the odd weekend shopping trip. The Isuzu is also the tow truck for the MGB when I go racing smile

Thanks for the wlecome !

A common way to introduce yourself is to pop into NP&E and start a thread with 'Nigel Farage is a bit of a tt' or 'Tony Blair is a god!'.

The regulars over there will appreciate the humour and welcome you with open arms.

OOPS!!
Sorry
I forgot the pictures. Actually I dont have that many pics to hand. Here are some old pics and some recent vids of the MGB.

I spun a bearing on this last race so the engine is coming out for some TLC.

The vids showed my best ever wheelie, but the ET was slow. She normally runs 9.6's on a good day. but I had just fitted a new hi stall torque converter which is better matched to the engines output now and she just lit up off the line. And took me by surprise I must say smile I backed off the juice for 2 seconds while she settled down and then got back on it to run a 10.1 pass. So I'm more than happy that this run would be a new PB if I had fitted the wheelie bars like I was supposed to last july ?

This was my first 9.6 from a year ago,

And another
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0TnF551c-0

I have done 17 passes at 9.6 seconds in the last year at the Pod. But despite my best efforts I could not get to the 9.5's ? So we did some thinking and looked at the data logs and found that the old torque converter was slipping. So I fitted a betrer one to match the engine and all hell broke loose smile

Perry

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I guess I should add that the car is a rare factory built original MGB V8. Build number is 2071 out of approx 2700 V8's ever built at the MG factory. And it still runs a Rover V8 engine. Its a modified 3.9 litre core engine which touches 600hp now. Its full steel body car with a bolt in roll cage. Its not a tube frame car with a plastic body dropped on.

FYI

Jesus Christ that is some motor! There is a section called Readers Cars, you should pop over there and get a thread up on it. I am sure quite a few of us would be very interested in some more details!

Welcome to the mad house smile

Welcome to PH. wavey

May I suggest that you invest in a heavier engine. That will keep those front wheels on the road.

You're welcome.

That's quite brilliant. I hope you wear a flat cap while you casually demolish the drag strip.

And welcome to PH!
