1. Corvette - French word for small manoevrable warship.
2. Louis Chevrolet - Frenchman (Swiss born) who set up the car company.
3. Corvette crossed flags logo - incorporates a fleur-de-lis, French symbol of peace and purity (three pointed lily flower).
4. Corvette engines built at St Catherines, Ontario - where French is recognised as an official language (beware the slang "grosse Corvette, petite quequette").
5. C5 - model description also used by French car company Citroen.
6. Le Mans GTS victories - Corvette 3 times winner of most famous motor race in France.
7. Corvette now to be sold alongside Cadillac - named after Frenchman Antoine de la Mothe-Cadillac, founder of Detroit.
8. C6 tyres - made by French company Michelin.
At least the cars are still being built at Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Bowling Green has just been renamed Boules Vert and Kentucky has just been renamed Quentucke.

The nomenclature of the V8 engines will henceforth be known as Ellesse Un, Deux and Six and will be referred to as the "Couer de Vette".

The next Z06's performance is rumoured to be "In Seine" even if the styling is still an Eiffel.

Even now, the French think the performance Vette is called an 06 as they keep saying "Zees ees Zee 06"

Regarding the new 2005 Vette the French will again be crying "Say Cease" but it didn't stop the Americans last time!

Toutes Corvettes sont rouges.
