Scratches in brand new OEM-tinted side window
Discussion
We took delivery of a new Mazda 6 tourer last week. My wife is currently 22 weeks pregnant, and unfortunately passed out and hit the deck the other day. She and the baby are absolutely fine, thankfully, but she did manage to hit the car window on her way down, bashing it with her metal iPhone. There are three scratches, three inches long or so, which feel rough and gritty where the glass itself has scratched. It has also removed the OEM tint along the scratch lines, which stands out quite a bit.
What are my options here? I have full glass cover which has no excess and doesn't affect NCB, but is there anything Autoglass et al. would be able to actually do? If they replaced the glass can I expect it to be a seamless fit with the same OEM glass and tint as the others?
The panel affected is the secondary, smaller non-mobile piece in the rear passenger door, i.e. between the window and the boot/estate glass. It's quite trivial I know, but with a virtually brand new car it 'spoils' things a bit because it does stand out. I just don't want to sound like a total mong when I ring up and ask about fixing three hairline scratches until I have some facts first.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like legitimate cause for an insurance claim. But is it worth it? I'd be surprised if it was more than say £100 for a new genuine glass.
As per the OP my glass cover attracts no excess. I'm just asking whether a repair is possible, or else would a replacement be the same glass. I'd not want to book Autoglass and find out I have an odd looking window. Only one way to really find out I suppose, but I hoped someone else might have experience of similar before I phone them up to arrange something. Cheers.M6L11 said:

I don't think you want autoglass, you want the dealer. Get a genuine replacement.
The car's on Motability lease and has free glass cover, so it's pointless me paying the dealer for something that's already covered in the lease for free. If I owned the car I would, but in this case it's not worth it. I presume the dealer fit tinted glass would still be a tinted film applied to regular glass. I think they come graded in percentage terms as to how much light they let through with 5% being the darkest and changing in 5% increments. Glass insurance should cover the replacement glass and re tinting?
There seems to be some confusion about the glass. The OP talks about OEM privacy glass and others have mentioned dealer applied film. If the scratch is on the outside face of the glass and it has affected the tint, it will not be a film as this is always applied to the inside face. OEM privacy glass has the deeper tint embedded in the manufacturing process.
If it is OEM tint and I have read the post correctly, the glass required is the small triangular piece next to the dropglass in the rear door, called a vent in the trade. The dealer retail on this is around £45 plus VAT. Get the dealer part and arrange fitting either through the lease or pay for the someone to fit it; probably an hour maximum start to finish.

Baffled by your original question then.Tell us the answer you want to hear and someone will write that for you.
