Baby Seat

Can anyone suggest an baby seat that can go in the front seat? The only posts I can find are about using the back shelf which in not an option for me. I will just have to leave the wife behind.
Make/model/cost information would be great!
Otherwise Im afraid I will have to sell and get a cerb, whilst this would be nice I would prefer to spend my money on my child than on myself and its due at the start of may which we all know is the start of the topless season!

Just take the CHim to halfords or mothercare world and get them to try some in the car.. I cant remember if i ever put ours in the chim rear facing but it goes in front facing.

I used a recaro type seat from halfords - side head restraint etc with detachable booster
fit great

Depends on how old yours is, originally one of the bebe confort flat pram, a bit like a moses basket - with a special chest strap, and spoecially adapted to sit on a bench seat and secured by seatbelt adaptors (we use bolted compression starps) - but after about 6/7 months she went into teh bebe confort iseos car seat (won a load of safety awards).

Leave yer sprog at home!.

It'll only distract you when you're driving. You won't be able to enjoy open top motoring, because it'll get cold or sunburnt or dirty or car sick or catch a chill or breathe in carcogens from diesel engines in standing traffic or get asthma and it'll all be your fault.

It's better off at home being pampered in the bosom of its loving mother - while you're out having fun.

I've had our sprog in a (group 0) Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio, that's the one with the base which you clip the seat into. It's a very snug fit between the seat and the dashboard.

Dunno about group 1 seats which we'll have to get soon.

Britax do a fantastic seat called the first class that can be used as rear-facing and then when the wee one can sit unaided as forward facing. It reclines in both positions for when junior wants to enjoy a nap (kids sleep is aided by V configuration engines I'm sure!).

We've got two of these and I've used them in the front seat of my old S and the rear of the Cerbera without problems.

I use a 'cruiser plus' from Britax (9 months to 6 years). It fits the seat well and is dead easy to move between cars as it uses the main belt to hold the sprog in as well as the seat. It also goes in the boot if you want to leave the roof down.
I do only use it occasionally so I'm not sure how it would stand up to constant baby use (better than the Chim would I suspect).
