Hello fellow Ceberees,
Ok, so to resolve the dip beam disappearing, and the cause being the two melted contacts in the plug on the switching unit, I bypassed the contacts by soldering direct to the board, and reasonably pleased with myself at the outcome.
I guess about a month later, there's been a bit of random electrical noise (clicking), the ice indicator has come on in the cold weather, but confused between green red and orange somewhat randomly. My o/s rear indicator has been intermittent since before the above fix, and now I'm losing the dip beam again!
Having inspected, the other control box, the lighting switching unit more towards the n/s of the tank, now also has a melted contact.
So is the solution to bypass that one as well? Or will I just melt something else further down the line?
Has anyone been through the same scenario?
Driving in winter is a bit more problematic without headlights, such as they are. Do I just live with the sidelights and warn others of my presence with the loud pedal..?
Any advice greatly appreciated

Sounds like you just unlucky, electrical wise at the moment.
The rear indicator looks like a seperate issue as normally the relay goes west first and you only say it's that one issue, so a local wiring problem possibly.
Repair the other control box, most people find soldering to the main board fixes the issue.
As for the clicking? Needs tracking down to see which relay it is, may an assistant is required!
Do you have any damp problems? A damp car exaggerates electrical issues this time of year.
