Are all Overfinch models classified as 'modified' for insurance purposes or does OVERFINCH classify as a manufacturer like Alpina is for BMW?

Anyone know?

I think but don't hold me to this that they are classed as modified.

Modified 100%. Theyre not manufactures in their own right like Alpina.

modified

I had my L322 'face lifted' to 2007 supercharged 'look' and that was considered modified and had to change my insurer - so beware of any mods

Why not ring a couple of insurers - preferably those actually that know what a Land Rover is - & ask for a price?

I have checked with my insurers (multi car policy) and it comes up with a stupid price...have emailed Overfinch directly to see what their suggestions are in terms of insurance etc.

I never had any issues with mine.....its basically a range rover with a bodykit and replacement wheels.

Having said that I think all RRs are becoming pricy to insure due to thefts.

Either it's not a real Overfinch then, or you don't know what you're driving.
A body kit and fancy wheels doth not an Overfinch make.

For the last few years that's all they've been I think.

That's my understanding. Gone are the days of 6 litre Chevy engines, uprated suspension and red dials in the classics.
But then OF are a completely different company run by different people too.

Down to remaps and exhausts now, tweaking the supercharger pulley etc but gone are the engine swap days.

Modern LR engines have came a long way from the old 3.9s and 4.6s of the past.

when i had mine they recommended national farmers mutual who were very very competitve....rediculously cheap compared to other insurers.
this was a few years ago but it worked for both my chevvy powered overfinch and a later 580 s

it very much depends on insurance companies - some run a mile when the work 'modification' is used

when I had my old L322 face lifted to 2007 'look' my insurers refused to cover the car - it was simply a bumper/lights change done by a main dealer but they did not want to know

no logic/rhyme nor reason - but that's insurance companies

to be honest I now use a broker (member on here) and get a far better service and price - thanks Nick

It's just a matter of picking a specialist rather than the likes of go compare.

When I'm asked if my defender is modified I ask for their email so they don't get cramp but it's still under £250 fully comp
