Apologies for the shocking pictures, I was in a hurry!

Not sure which model it is. Was my late Dad's and my mum is having a clear out of all his hifi stuff so we're trying to ID/value it all. Will hopefully have a chance next weekend to have a proper look but thought I'd ask the collective first!

Cheers smile

Looks like the AR Legend. http://vinylnirvana.com/ar-turntable-history/ar-le...

Not sure what pricing when new was like but I can imagine it was about £350-£700 given that the quality was that much better than the Rega Planar 3 about at the time.

It is an AR Legend, with a Linn Basik LVX Arm and a Linn Basik cartridge.

The whole lot would have been around £300 in 1982/1983.

I need to get out more.

Maybe you do, but at least your knowledge has a use. I don't ever envisage a day when it's going to be useful to know the registration number of the Volvo 265 GLE my dad bought in 1988!

Thanks for your help Gents. Much appreciated. Any recommendations for moving it on? Is eBay the best option or is there a suitable forum somewhere?

ebay probably - most of the other venues Hi Fi Forums will have membership time and post number limits
