cheers guys... can't wait to get me hand on it.
Had a little go with the tiptronic thingy... is it all that or just a gimmick? The salesman reckoned the auto can change quicker than me and the tiptronic, regardless...
Oh and is "TC off" OFF, or off untill it gets outta control then it's on?

ESP ON is good. It will allow a little bit of spin and let the back slide when it's wet, but will gather everything back up. It's not intrusive, like the BMW system, that cuts in way too early either.Had a little go with the tiptronic thingy... is it all that or just a gimmick? When you switch it off, it's off.
The manual shift mode is pretty good - especially the 'blip' on down changes, but you're better off just leaving it in manual or sport for everyday driving.

Any breakfast club meets coming up? do we still do them?
the 8 arrived today.
I filled it with fuel, and have attempted to use it all in an hour or so. Unfortunately the ls2 is quite economic
so I've still got some left for tomorrow.
First impressions.
Brutal.
I'd forgotten quite how powerful these cars are. So much more urgent than the Ro as well when pushing on.
Foot to the floor, get some grip, the grin factor when it changes gear and launches again is fanf*ckingtastic!
I thought it might be quite pedestrian, seeing as a lot of folk rate the 8 as a lot less "muscle car esque" than the Ro. But the Auto box, when on song is cracking....
Just need some dry weather to explore its real potential now!
PS
I now know what that strip of grippy stuff is for at the traffic lights....
