As above really randomly when I load pages on pistonheads I get occasional 0bytes txt files entitled f.txt?

Anyone care to shed some light?

There's lots of stuff on the net about it, some suspect some kind of adware or rogue plugin causing the issue. It looks like it has been designed to inject adverts into the page so it could be something legit not working properly or something more sinister.

I normally open separate tabs for each thread I want to view, with command + click. Sometimes I hit option + click by mistake which downloads the html file, so i figured I was doing that until I saw they were all called f.txt instead of 'threadname'.html and it was doing it with command.

Weird.

I think it's only coming up for me on occasional square side adverts on threads. IMO shows that there is some sort of compromised ad server somewhere?

My own fault for not having adblocker on though TBH.

I've had a couple as well. "ad.doubleclick.net" or something it's coming from, just on PH it seems.

Its only popping up on PH though.

Everywhere else the Work internet lets me go to its not appearing, something hidden in some PH adverts?

It's the advert for the movies. Blinkbox or summit.
